What We Believe about Baptism

The ordinance of Baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the Scriptures by all who have repented and in their hearts have believed in Christ as Savior and Lord. In so doing, they have the body washed in pure water as an outward symbol of cleansing, while their heart has already been sprinkled with the Blood of Christ as an inner cleansing. Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. Baptism by immersion best pictures this reality and is the preferred method; however, the mode of baptism is not a test of fellowship or proof of saving faith. Therefore, while immersion is encouraged, sprinkling is acceptable (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48, 20:21; Romans 6:4; Hebrews 10:22).

Our Process

The process to be baptized at Christ Community Church is simple:

1)  Register for the Baptism
2)  Attend a Baptism class
3)  Attend Baptism service  (additional info will be emailed prior to the Baptism)

Q: As a church, do we offer infant baptisms?

A: No.  However, if the child acknowledges Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and has a simple understanding of what Baptism means, they may be baptized.

Q: My child will be baptized, do they need to attend the Baptism class?

A: The Baptism class is primarily geared toward adults, but as much as possible, we are happy to have a simplified child-friendly version of the class.  Please email if you would like to request this option.

Q: The individual being baptized has special needs - are you able to accommodate this?

A: Please email to let us know what accommodations you require (1:1 class, etc.), and we will do our best to meet the needs of the individual for the Baptism class and/or Baptism.
