Finding the Path

09_trees_path_resized_400Men in American society don’t have the easiest road to travel – corporate demands, overloaded schedules and pressure to succeed can make a man feel isolated or fatigued. Life’s urgency limits a man’s ability to put first things first or live with any sense of direction. The men of Christ Community Church want to provide a clear alternative – to point men toward a path worthy of life's journey! Our mission is clear: To attract and equip men to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ through discipleship relationships, motivated by His love and example. Finding the Path involves each of us taking one step at a time to discover what we think about Christ, and if we desire to pursue a relationship with Him based on faith.

Curious About Christ

Men often have more questions than answers when they first consider the path of faith, and desire a place to hear what other men believe. Weekly events like our 101 Small Groups, for example Truth Project on Friday mornings at 6:30 am over the summer at the church (conference room), or events off campus like the Orlando Golf Trip, Sixers or Phillies games with players faith stories, all provide men the opportunity to explore their faith in a non-threatening setting.

First Steps With Christ

First steps along the path of faith need encouragement, and that’s what First Monday Men is meant to do. It’s the first opportunity to hear a message on issues facing men of faith, and to build new friendships with other guys who want to do the same.  It may be the first time to experience worship in a comfortable setting, along with our Sunday services.  And it may be the first opportunity to try a discussion group focused on the evening’s message with other men. These gatherings occur on the first Monday of the month for most of the months of the school year at Christ Community. Check First Monday Men for the details of our next event.

Growing With Christ

Building friendships with other men that are centered in the Scriptures, God’s handbook for life, is an important next step on the path of faith – unfortunately, most men don’t read the Bible very often. Explore our 101 and 201 Small Group Opportunities which allow men to gain a greater perspective on life through the study of the Scriptures. Together men learn about key issues such as being a faithful husband, a good father, or visionary leader.

Devoted To Christ

Basic Training (301 Small Groups) is a curriculum written by Stephen Sonderman of Elmbrook Church that is designed to help men identify and explore the critical issues of life as they mature spiritually along the path of faith.  The content and friendships that come from these weekly small groups cannot only change lives, but last for a lifetime. Again, consult our Small Group Opportunities to see when these groups are available, or send Paul Clough, Pastor of Men's Ministry, a quick email for more details.

Reaching Out & Serving in Christ’s name

There is no better way to grow than to give back - a sure principle as we walk a path of faith. The Men of Christ Community create opportunities to serve others in need, and reach out to those who do not yet have a relationship with God. Examples are serving a  Thanksgiving dinner at the Salvation Army, or participating in a Good Works home repair project every third Saturday. Many men also commit to serving in the Men’s Ministry, or other ministries at Christ Community. Check our News postings periodically for upcoming opportunities to serve others in need.
