At KidzROCK, we believe that helping children to be more like Jesus means teaching them about His heart for the world, so that they too can develop a heart for bringing lost people to Him. Because of that, we do the following things:
Missions and Me
Our "M and M" program happens one Sunday a month during the 9:00 a.m. service. K - 5th Graders are taught a special missions lesson through story telling, videos, activities, and worship, all meant to teach children about God's heart for the world. If you have questions about the Missions and Me program or would like to be involved in making it happen, please contact Shelley Melvin or Barbara Zahniser (Christ Community's Director of Missions) at the church office.
Service Projects
Several times a year we encourage the KidzROCK kids to participate in service projects where they reach out to others outside of their world and help them in Jesus' name. These include:
* A project taken on by our Thursday night Adventure Club kids to help a local charity in some way. Some examples are: we have brought in the supplies for and made up toiletry bags for the Safe Harbor agency, have made baby blankets for a local shelter for moms, and have brought in paper products for an Easter outreach event done by a church in Chester.
* During our summer camps we choose a project to raise money for throughout the camp week. Projects have included raising money for canoes for a local Christian camp, a new playground for a Bosnian preschool, and funds to send children living in India to VBS for the first time.
* the Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection program which we participate in during November
If you would like to participate in helping with service projects at KidzROCK, please contact Shelley Melvin at the church office!
